Lavender is great for muscles, pain, inflammation, headaches, and the
respiratory system. The Properties of Lavender Spike Essential Oil are:
analgesic, antidepressant, antiseptic, antispasmodic, cholagogue, cicatrisant,
cytophylactic, decongestant, diuretic, emmenagogue, insecticide, rubefacient,
sudorific, vulnerary. |

Spike lavender is listed in the British
Pharmacopoeia, supportive of cases flatulent dyspepsia, colic, depressive
headaches, and describes the use of the oil topically for rheumatic pain. The
oil may also have analgesic and anti-inflammatory applications, for infections
in general, and is suited for children. |

This oil is Therapeutic Grade. Commercial Grade essential oils are usually made of the
left over plant materials after finishing the therapeutic distillation process.
The commercial
grade oils retain a robust fragrance suitable for soap making, candle making, as
well as cosmetic manufacturing. Unfortunately, because of the reduced active
therapeutic content, the commercial grade oils will not be suitable for aromatherapy or massage
therapy applications.

History:
Lavender is adapted to
living in a dry climate and is native to the western half of the
Mediterranean, reaching altitudes of up to 1800 meters. It is believed that
the Romans and the Benedictine monks subsequently introduced it to rest of
Europe. |
